FreedomWorks Foundation FreedomWorks has awarded Congressman Hensarling with two straight 100% scores in its ongressional ratings as well as its Legislative Entrepreneur Award. "Driven by the desire to put policy before politics, Congressman Hensarling asked the fundamental question that most on Capitol Hill have long forgotten: 'Is this the right thing to do with the taxpayer’s money?'" said FreedomWorks Chairman and former House Majority Leader Dick Armey.

American Conservative Union Congressman Hensarling was recently honored by his sixth consecutive 100% score in The American Conservative Union’s (ACU) Congressional Ratings. He is a consistent winner of ACU’s highest award, the Defender of Liberty, and has a 98.6 % lifetime score.

Club for Growth Congressman Hensarling has a 100% lifetime score in The Club for Growth's Congressional scorecard, one of only two members in the entire House of Representatives with a perfect score in each year since the Club began scoring congressional votes. "Congressman Hensarling is clearly a courageous defender of American taxpayers," said The Club for Growth president. "Congressman Hensarling demonstrates a strong commitment to increasing economic freedom and improving the standard of living for all Americans."

National Taxpayers Union For six consecutive years, Congressman Hensarling has received National Taxpayers Union's (NTU) highest award, the coveted Taxpayer Friend. Congressman Hensarling earned the second-highest pro-taxpayer score three times and and his score has ranked in the top 5 of all scores every year since 2004. According to NTU's scorecard, Congressman Hensarling has amassed the #1 or #2 most taxpayer-friendly spending agenda in each Congress he has served.

Americans for Tax Reform Americans for Tax Reform has recognized Congressman Hensarling with a 97% lifetime voting record and awarded him with their highest award, the Hero of the Taxpayer, each year he’s served in Congress.

Citizens Against Government Waste Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) is an organization fighting government waste, fraud, and abuse. In 2009, Congressman Hensarling was one of only seven House Members to receive the Taxpayer Super Hero Award, given to Members who scored 100% in CAGW's ratings. Having received multiple awards through his career in Congress, he has a lifetime voting record with CAGW of 96%.

• The 2010 Almanac of American Politics reports that Congressman Hensarling has a “solidly conservative voting record” and “has not been afraid to push Republican leaders to take more conservative positions.”
