popular as the notion that lawmakers should work nearly until Christmas. Now both are probable, due
in no small part to Republican Rep. Jeb Hensarling of Dallas. As a member of the Republican Study
Committee, the conservative core of the House GOP, he has spent his three years in Congress pushing Republicans to live up to their promise of fiscal restraint.
